About REIF
established 2022
Rotary’s global network of 1.4 million neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers believe we are responsible for acting on our world’s most persistent issues. Protecting the environment has motivated the Rotary Clubs of the greater Peterborough/Kawartha area to seek and support local solutions and innovations that address the causes and reduce the effects of climate change and environmental degradation.
The Rotary Environmentalist Innovators Fund (REIF) was created by a collection of active citizens and businesses – the Environmental Champions group – to support and advance the passion of local Environmental Innovators—environmentalists working on some of the top environmental concerns facing us today and impacting us locally.
REIF Champions participate in selecting three Innovator applications for funding, with $3,000 awarded to each finalist. By participating in the voting process, Champions significantly and immediately impact local environmental leaders’ initiatives in sustainable projects.
